We’re back in Phoenix. Kathryn’s sister picked us up at Sky Harbor, and we’re taking her for dinner before she takes us home.
We’re all checked in for the return flight to Phoenix via Charlotte. There were few people passing through the security checkpoint here in Allentown. We went from the main entrance to the check-in counter to the gate in about ten minutes. The boarding area is nearly empty, even with other flights about to depart.
Well, we made it through the security checkpoint about ten minutes after Mass had started. The ticketed area had filled up, so we never had a chance to use the tickets we were so lucky to obtain. We are participating via Jumbotron. As far away as we are, there are tens of thousands, if not … Continue reading Arrived at Papal Mass
After over two-and-a-half hours in line, we’re within field goal range of the security checkpoint, but we’re still not inside. It’s a genuine pilgrim atmosphere here, and spirits are high. Everything is on schedule so far. After watching the Pope’s address on television last night, we’re even more revved up than we were … Continue reading Philadelphia pilgrimage underway

We’re safely with our friends in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Our flight was about twenty minutes late, not a big deal.
We just landed in Charlotte and are still taxiing to the arrival gate. We have a short layover here en route to Allentown. We’re going to look for something to eat. There’s also a rumor we have an aunt who might be in the airport changing planes for Phoenix.
I’m at Sky Harbor Airport this morning, waiting to board a flight to Charlotte. Looking around the boarding area, I’m expecting a full flight. It’s not yet 6 am, so the bars are sadly not open.
