Our latest adventure is now underway. The most stress-inducing part of any trip by air for me — the TSA gauntlet — is safely behind us.
After waiting twenty minutes to drop off our bags at the US Airways counter, I decided to try the B security area even though we are departing through a gate on the A concourse. There was no line whatsoever, and we went through an old-fashioned metal detector rather than one of those backscatter machines.
Meanwhile, Kathryn is engaging in her usual pre-flight ritual, trying to scam for an upgrade. No luck this time.
On our way to the gate, we noticed the Starbucks on the A concourse is closed. There may be hope yet for the concessions at Sky Harbor.
